The Dutch writer, Thomas Olde Heuvelt, is the author of five novels and many short stories. His books have been translated into English, Chinese, Italian, French and Japanese. Recently, one of them has been published in Polish.
Thomas Olde Heuvelt is the author of the horror “Hex”, which Warner Bros is turning into a TV series.
He wrote his debut novel, “De Onvoorziene”, when he was nineteen. It quickly turned out that the Dutch author who was just starting his literary career, and whose childhood heroes included Roald Dahl and Stephen King, and who later took up reading the works of such contemporary writers as Jonathan Safran Foer, Carlos Ruis Zafón, Neil Gaiman and Yann Martel, had developed his own, unique style. His following works gained greater popularity and received many awards, both in Netherlands and on the international arena. Short stories written by Heuvelt have received the Hugo for best novella and were twice more nominated for the Hugo, and also for the World Fantasy Award.
His horror, “Hex”, had its worldwide premiere in 2006. It was published in Poland by Zysk i S-ka in October 2017, and quickly won the hearts of horror fans. Which is not surprising, considering that Stephen King himself has called the book “totally, brilliantly original”, and Warner Bros is working on creating a television series based on it.Tags: guest, program, pyrkon2018
