Another edition of Pyrkon, full of magic and fantastic energy, has come to an end! We finished this year with a whopping 344<\/strong> entries in the “Guests” tab, and right now, with a spark in our eyes and a map of new worlds in hand, we are announcing the first three (well, technically 7) names for Pyrkon 2027. These guests will appear in the Literature Zone, the Film & TV Series Zone, and on our concert stages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please welcome: Graham McTavish, Grady Hendrix, and La\u00efs.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A face you know well from the largest fantasy worlds \u2013 Graham McTavish<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first guest of Pyrkon 2027 you’ll get to know today is an actor and narrator, known both from the theater stage as well as the silver screen and TV. His rich portfolio includes roles that have gone down in the history of modern fantasy. Some of the most important among them are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Dougal Mackenzie<\/strong> in the “Outlander” <\/em>series<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Dwalin<\/strong> in “The Hobbit”<\/em> trilogy<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Sigismund Dijkstra<\/strong> in “The Witcher”<\/em> series (Netflix)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Ser Harrold Westerling<\/strong> in the series “House of the Dragon”<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • King Atlan<\/strong> in the movie “Aquaman”<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The voice of Arius<\/strong> in the animated series “Devil May Cry”<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The voice of Dracula<\/strong> in the series “Castlevania”<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The voice of Charlie Cutter \/ Zoran Lazarevic<\/strong> in the “Uncharted”<\/em> game series<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Furthermore, he is the co-author of “Clanlands: Whisky, Warfare, and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other”<\/em>\u2014a humorous travel journal and guide to the history and culture of Scotland, which he wrote alongside Sam Heughan.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Like gravity, you cannot escape his work \u2013 Grady Hendrix<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Grady Hendrix is an author whose stories pull you in like a magic spell\u2014a mixture of the grotesque, nostalgia, and pure horror that leaves a lasting mark on the reader. The creator of titles such as “Horrorst\u00f6r”<\/em>, “How to Sell a Haunted House”<\/em>, and “My Best Friend’s Exorcism”<\/em>, he has a knack for blending pop culture tropes with sharp social commentary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    He also wrote “Paperbacks from Hell”<\/em>\u2014a historical overview of the paperback horror boom of the 70s and 80s, for which he received the Bram Stoker Award. His books have been translated into many languages, and some are making their way onto the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    He jokingly says about himself that he is very, very<\/em> beautiful, so if you decide to meet him, don’t let it fluster you.<\/p>\n<\/div>

    And finally, let’s dance the biggest Chapelloise<\/em> in Pyrkon’s history together with La\u00efs!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    If you have ever danced the Chapelloise<\/em> at Pyrkon, there’s a good chance you already know one of the songs from next year’s Convention guests. It is the band La\u00efs<\/strong> who created the famous “‘t Smidje”<\/strong>\u2014a song that has accompanied group dances at conventions, festivals, and fantasy events all over Poland for years. Now, the artists will visit Pyrkon to perform much more than just the one cult-classic track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The band members include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
