No book holds as much charm as a medieval manuscript. Beautifully illuminated and skillfully bound, manuscripts are a never-withering source of inspiration for writers and filmmakers. It appears that everybody knows what a manuscript looks like. Or do they? How was a medieval book made? What was it made from? What can a book really tell us, if we know what questions to ask?
