The IDW Transformers comics universe has come to a close last fall, with another one barely starting to develop. However, the fact that a story is no longer a main continuity does not mean that it is irrelevant or unworthy of attention. One of the series which ended with the previous universe was Lost Light, a sequel to More Than Meets the Eye. Written by James Roberts and drawn by, among others, Alex Milne and Nick Roche, the run was a six-years-in-the-making epic, with a level of consistency and deepening of the source material which seems extreme for what started as a toy commercial. This presentation aims to present some of the structural devices used to maintain the series for over eighty issues, as well as the themes which helped it become a fan-favorite for years to come.
