A meeting of all four elements – the WAPo stage at Pyrkon

This year, the Pyrkon concert stage consists of four different spaces: three outdoor stages (Water, Fire and Air) as well as concerts taking place in the Earth Hall. Among them, there will also be something for those who are looking for cosier sounds. The Air Stage, created by Wieczór Artystów Poznańskich (WAPo), takes the idea of local creative meetings and places it in the very centre of the convention, creating a place for original music and direct contact with the audience.
WAPo is an initiative that has been developing in Poznań for months as a cyclical event for artists who want to show off their original material. The formula is simple: five creators, each of whom gets 15 minutes on stage. Short sets, a variety of styles and a focus on what is most important – their original works.
From the basement to the stage
Normally, WAPo takes place in the MY space under the stage, in the basement of the Teatr Polski in Poznań, on the first Wednesday of every month. It is there, in an intimate atmosphere, that a place has been created for artists who want to test, develop and present their ideas. Each edition is also accompanied by talks with special guests – about working in the creative industry, the challenges and the realities of creating something.
After 15 editions, the event has managed to garner an audience and create a unique environment. Attendance is growing, and the list of artists eager to try their hand at this format gets filled well in advance. WAPo meets a specific need: a space where you can show something of your own and find people who want to listen to it.
The Air Stage at Pyrkon
During Pyrkon 2026, WAPo will appear at one of three outdoor stages at the Poznań International Fair: the Air Stage. The scale is different, but the idea stays the same: original work, short forms, and a wide variety of artists.
The stage program will be based on dynamic performances by local artists who will present their music to an audience of tens of thousands of convention participants. This is an opportunity to discover new sounds, often before they reach larger stages.
The WAPo stage is an invitation for those who want to slow down for a moment, stop and listen to something created here and now, without a big budget, but with the artist’s voice clearly distinguishable.
