Patricia Briggs do not appear at Pyrkon 2025

We regret to announce that Patricia Briggs, author of the Mercedes Thompson as well as the Alpha and Omega series will unfortunately not be appearing at the Pyrkon Fan Convention this year. We realize that many of you have been waiting for the opportunity to meet this esteemed author! We assure you, however, that the Literary Zone will host many other incredible creators from Poland and other corners of the world, who will make the three days of Pyrkon fun a real treat!
Patricia Briggs – why is she not attending Pyrkon 2025?
Dear Pyrkon-goers, many of you are probably wondering why Patricia Briggs will not be appearing at this year’s edition of the Convention. Below is Patricia’s statement:
Dear Friends and Fans of Pyrkon,
I have been looking forward to traveling once more to Poznań and Pyrkon. My trusty assistant Ann and I had an fabulous time meeting new friends and exploring the nearby parks and castles – and eating amazing food – the first time we were there.
It is thus with deepest regret that I have made the decision to stay home this year. I am a student of history.
Recent events in my country mean that I do not feel that I can promise my travel companion that we can trust our own government to allow us to travel unmolested to Poland and back. I have faith that someday my country will return to place of law and order. Until that time, I plan on staying closer to home.

A Little Treat to Sweeten the News
We do, however, have some good news related to Patricia! Although the author won’t be able to join us at Pyrkon, she has prepared something amazing for you. Patricia has written a short story, which you’ll be able to read in a special issue of CD Action magazine dedicated entirely to Pyrkon!
The Literature Zone – things will get hot!
It is not without reason that Pyrkon is also known as a Fantastic Meeting Place! We promise you that despite Patricia’s absence, the Literature Zone, as well as Pyrkon itself, will be a source of unforgettable experiences for you during the three days of convention fun! You will meet many amazing guests, get autographs and photos with your favorite writers, take part in exciting panel discussions and lectures… There will also be inspiring talks about fantasy – both from Poland and worldwide. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg, of course ! See you at Pyrkon!
