What is there to watch in the Film and TV Series Zone?
4 March 2025
It is hard to imagine the Film and TV Series Zone without screenings at the Pyrkon Cinema or one of the dedicated rooms that we get to watch all together. That is why this year we have prepared a rich repertoire for you, full of great film proposals. You will find some of them below!
“The Road To Nowhere” – a post-apocalyptic screening and a meeting with the creators

“The Road To Nowhere” is a dark story about a ruthless, post-apocalyptic world in which the loss of humanity has become an everyday occurrence and revenge is the only driving force for the survivors. The main character, a lonely wanderer, follows the trail of a man who destroyed his life. Wandering through the desolate landscape and brutal realities of the new world, he meets a mysterious stranger. Their conversation forces one to reflect on human nature and the limits of morality.
This is a film created with passion and determination and a perfect example of independent cinematography. It was created without a large budget, but with enormous creativity that allowed the project to be completed despite many compromises. The director and the film crew will talk about the challenges they encountered and how to overcome them during a meeting after the screening. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the making of “The Road To Nowhere” and hear the personal thoughts and experiences of the creators.
The following will talk about their work in the production of this unique item:
📽️ Amadeusz Kocan – r film director, screenwriter, and cinematographer. Creator of the documentary series “Ostatni Ludzie Czarnobyla” and “Czarnobyl: “Ludzie ze stali .” Founder of the independent film studio Green Mountain Pictures.
📽️ Bartosz Wabno – computer effects creator, and cinematographer, as well as co-founder of the independent film studio Green Mountain Pictures.
📽️ Paweł Kaszkowiak – actor and stage artist, associated with the Green Mountain Pictures film studio and the Comedy Club.
📽️ Karol Kopiec – actor and one of the first stand-up comedians in Poland. For some time now we have been able to see him on screen in both TV series and films, and of course – in “The Road To Nowhere”.
📽️ Monika Nowogrodzka – theatre, television and dubbing actress. Co-producer of the KDIT Studio. She has also performed in her own shows which have been appreciated at the largest cabaret festivals in Poland.
This dedicated film group will lead the meeting and will be happy to answer all your questions!
“The Gingerbread Man” – a bit of madness in a horror film
You’re probably familiar with the motif of evil spirits trying to possess people or objects? Director Charles Band, however, went a step further – when the ashes of a murderer executed in the electric chair are accidentally mixed with cake batter at a local bakery, he returns in the form of… the Gingerdead. And he seeks revenge on those who led to his conviction.

If you have a lot of questions at this stage—don’t worry—we have them, too! The Gingerbread Man is a production so absurd that we simply had to share it with you. If you’re looking for a horror movie with crazy conventions that will bring you to tears, this one is perfect!
Attention! The screening is intended for viewers over 15 years of age.
“Oldboy” – a screening for older viewers only! (+18)

The last film for today is the South Korean thriller “Oldboy”, directed by Park Chan-wook. This is a unique, suspenseful story of a man kidnapped and imprisoned in one small room. Oh Dae-su, because that is the name of the main character, can only contact the outside world through the tv in his room, which is his only source of information. It is through the TV that he learns of his wife’s death and the fact that he becomes the prime suspect. When he is released after fifteen years, he decides to find the people responsible for destroying his life.
The film received almost seventy different awards and nominations when it was released in 2003. Including the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Quentin Tarantino himself also contributed to its rapidly growing popularity, repeatedly emphasizing that “Oldboy” is his favorite film. Today, twenty years after its premiere, the film returns in a fully revamped version!
Due to brutality and drastic scenes, the film is intended for adult viewers only!
If this year’s repertoire has already intrigued you, then great! And if you still need more arguments, don’t worry – we’ll be back soon with more attractions in the Film and TV Series Zone!
