Zbigniew Bielak at Pyrkon 2025 – The Master of Detail with a Unique Exhibition!
1 May 2025
We’re thrilled to announce that one of the most highly acclaimed contemporary Polish artists – Zbigniew M. Bielak – will be a guest at Pyrkon 2025! The creator of unforgettable album covers for musical legends such as Ghost, Mayhem, Carcass, and Mgła is coming to Poznań with the exhibition:
“Zbigniew Bielak. Master of Detail. Album Covers 2010–2023.”
Who is Zbigniew M. Bielak?

Zbigniew M. Bielak is an architect, illustrator, and artist. Alongside Radosław Szaybo, he is one of the most internationally recognized Polish designers of rock and metal album covers. He has created artwork for legendary bands like Carcass, Darkthrone, Mayhem, Ghost, Paradise Lost, and Ice-T’s metal project – as well as Polish bands such as Gruzja, Mgła, and Vader. He also designed stage sets for Ozzy Osbourne and Ghost.
The newest album from the Swedish band Ghost, titled Skeletá, was released on April 25 this year – and its cover was also designed by Zbigniew. He also crafted the new visual identity for the band’s frontman, now appearing as Papa V Perpetua.
His works have previously been exhibited in solo shows in the Netherlands (2014), Switzerland (2014), the UK (2015), and Norway (2015, 2016, 2017), as well as in Poland – Katowice (2017) and Kraków (2019).
He is the winner of several industry awards, including the Heavy Music Awards 2019 in London (for Ghost’s Prequelle) and the 30/30 Best Album Cover Contest 2023 under the auspices of Radosław Szaybo (for Ghost’s Impera).
Zbigniew M. Bielak Will amaze You at Pyrkon!
After being presented at the Polish Song Museum in Opole and at the Castle in Pieskowa Skała, the exhibition will arrive at the Avenue of Artists and Collectors, where Pyrkon attendees will be able to admire dozens of large-format prints of Bielak’s most iconic works.
The exhibition offers a behind-the-scenes look into Zbigniew Bielak’s creative process. A special curated tour will also be available, providing deeper insight into the fascinating world of artistic storytelling and intricate detail. Although the albums he works on feature very contemporary music, Bielak’s art resonates with echoes of the last 500 years of art and architectural history – from Renaissance and Baroque to 20th-century European influences.
This wide range of inspirations is marked by an intense dedication to detail, inviting viewers to spend time and focus in order to fully appreciate the layers within.
You’ll find the artist’s exhibition in the Cosplay Zone in Pavilion 7a, and we warmly welcome all who are interested in the work of this remarkable artist.
Don’t miss the chance to meet Zbigniew M. Bielak and immerse yourself in a world of music, art, and detail like no other!
