Guests of the Korea Zone at Pyrkon 2026:

Although it is Korea Zone’s debut at Pyrkon, from the very beginning we focus on the highest quality – even when it comes to the selection of guests. This is a unique opportunity to meet people who really co-create contemporary Korean culture and pop culture.

Joo Ho-min

Joo Ho-min is a master of storytelling and a pioneer of the first generation of Korean webtoons (digital comics). He caused a worldwide sensation with his masterpiece Along with the Gods. Known for his extraordinary ability to weave traditional Korean mythology into modern narratives close to everyone’s hearts, Joo conquers the hearts of readers, touching on the deep themes of life, death, and human relationships.

His influence goes far beyond the digital canvas – the film adaptation of Along with the Gods broke all records, attracting more than 26 million viewers and forever changing the landscape of Korean pop culture.

Lee Kang-san

Master Lee Kang-san is a dynamic figure of the young generation in the field of traditional Korean performing arts, specializing in Samulnori (playing percussion instruments) and Talchum (dancing with masks). As a graduate of the prestigious Korea National University of Arts, he gained worldwide fame thanks to his solo performance with EXO boyband at the Closing Ceremony of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

Lee continues to push the boundaries of traditional art by appearing in popular media, including the short film “Apple”, famous TV series, and campaigns for global luxury brands such as GUCCI. Being a certified heir of National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 7, he actively performs around the world, sharing the explosive energy and richness of Korean culture with an international audience.

Kim Yeon-woo

Like many artists, she has loved to draw and create comics since she was a child. In school, she often scribbled on the margins of textbooks or on the bench, so that teachers would not notice. Over time, her passion deepened and she wanted to share the joy of drawing with others, which is why she began to publish her works on social media. It was these drawings that gave her the opportunity to debut as an artist as soon as she reached adulthood.

She began her career as a young adult, and although there were many ups and downs along the way, it was her persistent desire to create comics that led her to publish the book “The Omniscient Point Of View Of An Unrequited Love”. She is immensely grateful to the world for being able to continue to draw comics.

Don’t miss out on this journey. Come visit the Korea Zone and see how many worlds can fit in one place.
