New guests of the RPG Zone! Pyrkon will be visited by creators of some phenomenal storytelling systems!

Rowan Hall and Spenser Starke – our fantastic guests! 

At Pyrkon you will be able to meet representatives of Darrington Press – a publishing company started by the creators of Critical Role. In recent years it has made a mark on the world of role-playing, board and card games. This year at Pyrkon we host:

Rowan Hall

A game designer with multiple awards to her name, connected to projects such as Candela Obscura and Daggerheart. She’s also the author of the upcoming Hope & Fear expansion to the latter. Another thing in her portfolio is her work on Sunderfolk, praised by the NPR as one of the most interesting productions of 2025. Apart from creating games, she co-hosts the Willing and Fable podcast, where she dives deep into stories, myths and mysteries of cultures from around the world.

Spenser Starke

Senior game designer at Darrington Press, responsible for titles such as  Daggerheart, Candela Obscura, Alice is Missing or Kids on Brooms. At the same time he’s developing as a screenwriter and producer, working on a feature film project with Paramount/Skydance. He also has a connection to video games – he co-wrote the script for Sunderfolk, the latest production from Dreamhaven.

It’s a unique chance to get a behind the scenes glimpse from the creators of one of the most intriguing RPG systems of recent years. You are going to be able to talk about building mechanics, narrative design and creating worlds that engage players all around the world.
