TOKIWATA – Japanese illustrator at Pyrkon

Here at Pyrkon, we have already hosted singers, manga creators and producers… but this will be the first time we get a visit from a Japanese illustrator! We are very pleased to announce that our next guest is Tokiwata!
Tokiwata is an illustrator from Tokyo. Her distinctive style is inspired by the fashion of Japanese subcultures, fantastic tales and surreal worlds. Her work is much more than illustrations for social media – she creates music videos, designs characters and products, and implements numerous commercial projects. By combining digital and traditional techniques, she does creative work both in Japan and abroad. She also takes part in individual and collective exhibitions, constantly presenting new works.
Thanks to the distinctive linework and use of colors, her style is recognizable at first glance. Tokiwata is appreciated by the giants of Japanese industry – she cooperated with such brands like Hatsune Miku: Project Sekai or Nippon Ichi Software. She created illustrations for the largest VTuber agencies, such as Hololive or Nijisanji, and last year she also prepared mini-illustrations for the singer KOKIA for her concert. Every year, she is invited to participate in Eshi 100 Nin Ten – an exhibition that brings together outstanding artists from the front lines of Japanese pop culture. She’s not afraid of any challenge – she creates character designs, illustrates music videos, designs clothes… and has prepared a few surprises that you will be able to discover at Pyrkon!
