The creators of “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir” to visit the Movies & TV series Section!

Pyrkon is in less than two months now. This, however, does not mean that we are done announcing our guests. This time it’s two at a time – Thomas Astruc and Wilfried “Winny” Pain! Meetings with them will be held as part of the Movies & TV series Section!

Our guests will be coming to Poznań from France. As part of their careers to date, they co-created many an animated series, and currently they are mainly working on the Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir series. We wish to remind you that these are not the only people working on the title, visiting this year’s Pyrkon. At the Movies & TV Series Section you will also have the chance to meet Marta Dobecka and Maksymilian Bogumił, who dub the Polish version of Thomas Astruc and Wilfried Pain’s series.

From “Mission Cleopatra” to world-famous animated series – Thomas Astruc and his path to fame.

Thomas Astruc, Pyrkon 2019, Festiwal Fantastyki Pyrkon Thomas Astruc began his artistic career as a storyboarder on successful feature films (Wasabi, Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra) and international animation TV shows (Totally Spies, W.I.T.C.H.). In 2007, he began directing animated TV series: Mikido and Wakfu.

Since 2014, he is the creator and director of the animated TV series Miraculous, tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir co-produced by ZAG and ON kids & family. A world-class animated series, Miraculous brings an active community of millions of fans around the world. Broadcast in more than 130 territories, the series fascinates young and old.

The heroine he created illustrates and prefigures the phenomenon of “girl power”, and embodies his era to perfection. At the heart of a team of talented authors and co-directors, Thomas Astruc develops, writes and is currently directing seasons 3, 4 & 5 of the show and is also involved in the development of the animated feature film Miraculous scheduled for 2021.

Wilfried Pain – the living proof of the fact that a love for cinema can get you a long way

Wilfried Pain, Pyrkon 2019, Festiwal Fantastyki Pyrkon Born in 1979 in Paris, passionate since childhood by cinema, Wilfried Pain joined the famous Gobelins school and graduated in 2005.

The Japanese cult series Evangelion represents a major source of inspiration, and pushes it towards rich and inspiring projects. He began his career at Method Animation in 2006 with Thomas Astruc on the Mikido TV series as a boarder and 1st assistant, then worked on Wakfu for Ankama from 2007 to 2013 where he co-directed the famous series.

In 2013, he joined Thomas Astruc at ZAG and Method Animation, where he co-directed the world-famous award-winning series: Miraculous, tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. He is currently working on the long-awaited seasons 3, 4 and 5 of the show.
