Cherith Baldry, one of the authors of the cat Warriors series, to appear at Pyrkon!
We know you’ve been waiting for this! We are happy to announce that Cherith Baldry, one of the authors of the Warriors novel series you love, will be an Invited Guest of the Literature Zone at Pyrkon 2024! Well, after all, who doesn’t like cats? And not your ordinary cats at that, because the heroes of the Warriors series are wild cats who belong to self-proclaimed clans – of Lightning, River, Wind, Shadow and Sky. The series focuses on the adventures of feline characters residing in the forest and living according to their own laws and customs. The different volumes tell the story of the various cat clans, their hierarchies, conflicts, alliances and adventures of the protagonists, who are often young cats aspiring to be warriors of their clan. The world created in this series is fascinating and does not let you get bored for a moment!
Who is Cherith Baldry?
Cherith was fascinated with creating her own stories from an early age. She studied at the University of Manchester and at St. Anne’s College, Oxford.
Together with her husband Peter, she took a job as a teacher and lecturer at the University of Sierra Leone in Africa. In 2003, after returning to the UK, Cherith was hired as one of the authors of the “Warriors” series, writing under the common pseudonym Erin Hunter.
She is a cat lover whose four-legged companions, Bramble and Sorrel, appeared in the books as Brambleclaw and Sorreltail.
She considers one of her greatest achievements to be writing the chapter on Bright Soul in “Long Shadows,” which was written in memory of Emma Cherry, an American fan of “Warriors” who tragically died, together with her parents as a result of a natural disaster.
Cherith is a member of the Erin Hunter team to this day. She is already working on the ninth series of adventures of the warrior cats.
