Guests from a Galaxy Far, Far Away

The debuting Star Wars Zone will be visited by many interesting guests with professional or passionate ties to the Star Wars universe this year.

Among them will be Joonas Suotamo, a Finnish actor and basketball player known to Star Wars fans for his role as Chewbakka in the films: The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker, and Han Solo: A Star Wars Story. Meetings with the actor will be hosted by Magda Cathia Kozlowska, well-known in the fandom.

Another guest, Jarosław Domin , lent his voice to hundreds of characters, including Obi-Wan Kenobi. His colleague Maksymilian Bogumił was the voice of Vice Admiral Rampart from The Bad Batch, Anakin Skywalker in Droid Tales, as well as several nameless rebels in Rogue One.

In addition to actors, the Star Wars Zone will also host translators.

Anna Hikiert-Bereza, Marta Duda-Gryc, Jacek Drewnowski and editor Magda Cathia Kozlowska – have been translating novels, comics or magazines from foreign languages into Polish for many years, and are active members of our domestic Star Wars fandom.

The Star Wars Zone will also feature a youtuber – Michał “Komisarz Sev” Ogrodowicz , who has been active in the community of Wroclaw Star Wars fans for more than a decade. He is the host of the channel “Ziemniaczane Pole Komisarza Seva” (“Commissioner Sev’s Potato Field”), where he regularly publishes comic book reviews, thoughts on series and comments on the announcements of the latest productions.

An entire display fleet

This year’s Pyrkon will feature many great exhibitions, where you will have the opportunity to see gadgets and costumes from the Star Wars universe. Among the exhibits will be a model of the second Death Star with a diameter of one meter.

You will also be able to take a look at Her Majesty Queen Amidala’s robes. Three official Polish costume groups – Polish Garrison 501st Legion, Rebel Legion Eagle Base and Vu’traat Clan – MMCC Poland – have also prepared their expositions, where you will see not only cosplayers, but also props, droids, a section of the canteen from Mos Eisley or a 1:1 scale replica of a section of the corridor from the Death Star.

You will also see props on display at the Star Wars Armory exhibition, which will also feature props created specifically for the “Lost Empire” larp. LEGO fans will be able to see a variety of dioramas or vehicles, as well as a unique display dedicated to the clones of the 501st Legion.

Become part of the Star Wars world

The Star Wars Zone is not only about sightseeing, but also about interactive attractions. If you want to be transported to a galaxy far, far away for a while, be sure to check out the Star Wars Reenactment Camp!

There you will find a Mandalorian cantina, a Sith temple and its Jedi-run counterpart. The clones will deploy their post, along with a nerf shooting range, in the camp for the duration of Pyrkon. Rumor has it that both they and the Mandalorians could use a helping hand – mercenaries and bounty hunters will be able to go on one of two themed field games.

Star Wars-related contests will also be held in the Kids’ Zone.

Marches

On Friday and Saturday, the traditional Star Wars cosplay parades will take place. Your costume doesn’t have to look professional at all – the most important thing is that the person wearing it has a lot of fun! We invite all Star Wars fans to participate in the parade, including the youngest Pyrkon attendees.

The parades will form up in front of Hall No. 3 and will traditionally end at Hall PCC. On Friday at 5:00 PM, the parade will be led by the Sith and the Empire, and on Saturday at 7:00 PM – by the Jedi and the Rebels.

May the Force be with us!
