“Wszystkie zwierzęta są fantastyczne” at Pyrkon once again!

31 March 2025

Many participants in our Convention share their love of fantasy with their love of animals. Surely everyone has heard by now that Pyrkon supports foundations that benefit pets… Oh, you haven’t? We’re here to tell you all about it!

Since 2022, Pyrkon has partnered with organizations that help animals as part of the “Wszystkie zwierzęta są fantastyczne” campaign. Together we are supporting pets by educating people and spreading these amazing initiatives. During the 2025 edition, we are joining forces with two wonderful teams – the “Labrador” and “Ja pacze Sercem” Foundations.

A few words about the doggies…

The Labrador-Pies Przewodnik Foundation for the Blind is a remarkable team dedicated to the social and vocational rehabilitation of the blind and visually impaired.

They undertake the training of guide dogs, which are then given free of charge to those in need. As you may have guessed – the dog breed that aces this task is Labrador Retriever. In addition to training and socialization, they provide aftercare and retirement for these wonderful dogs. The Labrador Foundation is a member of the International Guide Dog Federation, and is authorized to issue certificates for guide dogs for the blind or visually impaired.

Interested? There will be a unique opportunity to observe the dogs in action during the training union at the Pyrkon grounds. You can learn more during their lecture in the Science Zone and in the Fan Initiatives Gord at their booth. You will also find their representatives in the Kids’ Zone. Volunteers will be happy to answer your questions.

…and the kitties, too

The “Ja Pacze Sercem” Foundation for Helping Blind Cats is the only such organization in Europe. Since 2014 informally, and since 2016 as a foundation, they have been dedicated to helping blind and visually impaired cats.

Their activities include taking cats from the streets and cages of shelters and creating a network of temporary homes for them, so that the kittens get a chance to live long and happy lives. Animals both in Poland and abroad – for example, blind cats from war-stricken Ukraine – receive help from the foundation. The organization’s efforts were recognized with the 2016 Cat Person of the Year and 2017 Heart for Animals awards.

You’ll meet them at the booth in the Vendors Land, as well as at the lectures in the Science Zone, where you’ll be able to see for yourself how well the blind kitties are doing on a daily basis. The volunteers present there will be happy to tell you, based on their experience with their charges, that incapacitated eyes are no barrier for the cats.

We are very pleased with this year’s collaborations and hope that you are too. We are sure you will agree with us – All animals are fantastic!
