Open the door to another world – What do we have in store for you in the RPG Zone 2025?

8 June 2025

If you had a choice – to reach for a sword, a spell book, or perhaps a detective’s diary – what would you take with you when crossing the border of our world? At Pyrkon, you do not have to choose only one path – in the RPG Zone, you can experience adventures, conduct investigations, participate in epic expeditions and… throw dice, with the fate of entire universes in your hands.

For all lovers of stories created together at the table, we have prepared something absolutely unique. Check out what’s waiting for you – and don’t forget to pack your imagination!

RPG sessions in the Spire

The Spire – the heart of the RPG Zone – will become a place where new legends are born this year. Throughout Pyrkon, open RPG sessions in various systems and with different vibes will be waiting for you: from classic fantasy, through cyberpunk metropolises, to cosmic endlessness.

You don’t need hundreds of hours of sessions played to join – all you need is a positive attitude and the desire to explore! In the Spire, you will find Game Masters ready to lead both fresh heroes and battle-hardened parties. If you love stories and fancy an unforgettable experience in the company of other fans – this is where you will find your party.

Develop your PRG skills during RPG workshops

Want to run your sessions better? Dreaming of creating your own world? Or are you just looking for inspiration? RPG workshops are the perfect place to listen, discuss and learn something new.

Experienced people from the industry, system developers, writers and enthusiasts will share their knowledge and experience with you. There is something for everyone to enjoy here. This year, the program will include:

  • What should a novice Game Master remember?
  • Money, Fool! Using currencies in roleplaying games
  • RPG as a medium of storytelling – what distinguishes TTRPG from film, book and computer games?
  • Giving improvisation a try
  • Rituals cookbook, or cook a ritual for yourself!
  • Epic Battles and Military RPGs: How to Create a Booming Narrative?
  • Tricks and techniques that saved my sessions
  • Why and how to start playing RPG games?
  • You’re a Lone Wolf. What do you do? [A] You sit down with the Innkeeper and play
  • I love you, player.
  • Acting in an RPG. A basic element or just a nice addition?
  • Spotlight in a session
  • Storytelling about my character
  • Get out of the basement and find a table
  • How to create epic stories in interactive worlds?
  • Session improvisation workshops for beginners and intermediates
  • Is it possible to be yourself and someone else?
  • Sabbath of Secret Keepers and other Game Masters
  • How to conduct RPGs for children and teenagers?
  • Start your restaurant at the end of the universe – about colonizing the planet as an adventure theme!
  • [EN] GRANT HOWITT’S KITBASH GAME DESIGN BONANZA
  • [EN] Celts in fantasy – how to be a modern druid or a bard

Let’s go back to all those rolls that should never have happened. Those ones that ruined the plan, those unfortunate moments when instead of a reckless charge, you ended up tripping over your own legs. Sounds familiar?

The Gallery of Damned Dice is the return of the most memorable failures – a place where you will be able to tell your story of betrayal on the part of the dice. We have prepared cards with dice silhouettes, crayons and other utensils so that you can create a visual representation of the one dice that “failed the most”.

The idea is created in cooperation with Ola Menio, the creator of RPG Daily and ambassador of dice drama. Her presence and watchful eye guarantee that every condemned dice will go where it belongs – to the altar of RPG-related suffering and laughter.

Demonstration sessions – come, sit and see the magic of RPG live

This year we have an exceptional number of demonstration sessions for you! This is a great opportunity to see what sessions conducted by experienced Game Masters with the participation of outstanding players look like. It’s also a great way to explore new systems, see their style and… have fun even as a spectator!

The sessions will include classic, funny, dramatic and experimental ones – something for every fan of stories and dice. Don’t miss out – why not discover your new favourite system or create your own team at the end of the session?

Immersion Game – a detective adventure in Pyrkon

A murdered archaeologist. A charred body. An old map and four worlds to explore.

If this sounds like the perfect start to your adventure – you’ve come to the right place! This year, we have prepared a convention immersion game – perfect for fans of LARP, RPGs and any field games. Take on the role of researchers, journalists or detectives solving the mystery of the mysterious death of Jonathan Alden.

The game will take you through four dimensions (read: different corners of Pyrkon), where you will discover abandoned elements from the archaeologist’s room, collect clues and combine facts. At the end, we will meet together during the final panel, where each team will be able to present their own conclusions.

There is no one version of the truth. There are only your clues, deductions and interpretations. The secret awaits – will you take up the challenge? You can read more about the Game here.

Guests from Rowan, Rook & Decard

This year Pyrkon will be visited by a strong representation of one of the most creative teams on the RPG market: Rowan, Rook & Decard! You will be able to meet creators such as:

  • Grant Howitt – the creator of Spire, Heart and Honey Heist, master of short form and epic chaos.
  • Maz Hamilton – the person responsible for sewing projects up and turning ideas into beautiful books.
  • Matt Sanders – “Professional Friendly Person”, whose task is, among others, to take care of relations with fans and the presence of the publishing house at events.
  • Elaine Lithgow – a designer with many years of experience who has worked on Angry Birds, Adventure Mart and Heart: The City Beneath.
  • Chant Evans – screenwriter and producer, specializing in dark worlds and horror stories.

And beware – if you are creators: take your portfolio with you! The members of the team will be happy to review them, give you tips, talk about projects and give inspiration during the Sunday meeting “[EN] Show us what you have!”.

This is a unique opportunity to show yourself off to industry professionals and… maybe take the first step leading to your own RPG project.

Erathia calling all the heroes!

If you’ve played your fair share of Heroes of Might and Magic III, get ready for a huge wave of nostalgia – because Pyrkon 2025 brings news straight from Erathia.

At this year’s Convention, you will have the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of the first official RPG game set in this legendary universe – „Heroes of Might and Magic: The Restoration of Erathia TTRPG”. The project is happening thanks to a cooperation between the Polish studio belonging to our Guests – Lans Macabre Publishing – and the British publishing house Modiphius Entertainment (Chris Birch, to be exact, whom you’ll also get to meet at Pyrkon!) It’s a story set in a world full of magic, incredible creatures and large scale challenges, as befits real heroic fantasy.

What is more – the crowdfunding campaign for the project has already exceeded half a million Polish złoty!

Want to know more? Look for program events featuring Lanse Macabre and Chris Birch himself! Who knows – maybe that’s where your adventure in the new version of Erathia begins?

The Witcher’s Dice – a gift from CD PROJEKT RED for the creators of RPG experiences

This year, we have something special for everyone who creates the RPG Zone with us! Thanks to the cooperation with CD PROJEKT RED, each person conducting a session, workshop or other attraction, within our zone, will receive a unique, limited Witcher dice. It is a symbol of gratitude, but also a magical artifact – who knows, maybe it will bring you luck when rolling?

More details about the dice, information on how to get it, but also about other witcher attractions can be found in the following entry: Witcher-related emotions at Pyrkon!

See you soon in the RPG Zone! Remember – dice can be treacherous, but adventure never fails.

The Sponsor of the RPG Zone is TheProtocolIT – a service with job offers for the IT industry
