He comes from the suburbs of Naples, but his career extends far beyond Italy, or even Europe! During his studies at the International School of Comics in Rome, he already set his sights on foreign comics. From there, thanks to a scholarship, he went to Japan, where he had the opportunity to work for the Kodansha publishing house. His subsequent collaborations were equally impressive, as he gained further experience illustrating the story of the Hulk for Marvel. However, it was his return to Europe and entering the French-Belgian comic scene that allowed him to fully develop his career. Bennato’s talent has benefited numerous publishers, including Delcourt, Clair de Lune, Narratives, and HB Editions. His work from that period boasts narrative aspects as rich as the visual ones. His latest works do have a Polish twist to them. As a household name on the international comics scene, together with the American publishing house Dark Horse Comics, he worked on titles such as The Witcher: The Edge of the World, Cyberpunk 2077: Kickdown and Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome.
