In his career, Jason Durall participated in creating games, which gained many fans all over the world. He gained experience holding different positions, which gave him a wider perspective on the RPG games creation process. In addition, our guest also worked in the computer games industry. Jason is a person of many talents and his coming to Pyrkon is a perfect opportunity to get to know his methods and take a look at RPGs from a completely different perspective.
Jason Durall or the man of many talents
Jason Durall has been a writer, designer, playtester, proofreader, editor, consultant, and line manager in the roleplaying game industry for almost 25 years. He has contributed to games as diverse and wide-ranging as Achtung! Cthulhu, Amber Diceless Roleplaying, Battlestar Galactica, Conan, Dragon Lords of Melnibone, A Game of Thrones, The Laundry, The Lord of the Ring Roleplaying Game, Lords of Gossamer & Shadow, Serenity, Silver Age Sentinels, Supernatural, and World War Cthulhu, but is best known for the “Big Gold Book” edition of Basic Roleplaying.
His professional career was in the computer games industry, as leading creative and/or design teams on Shadowbane, Wizard101, Pirate101, and Drakensang Online. Now a full-time writer and game developer, Jason is managing Modiphius’s Robert E Howard’s Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of, and is the Chaosium Line Editor for the ENnie Award-winning new edition of RuneQuest Roleplaying in Glorantha. He lives in Berlin, Germany.
