The creator of Cracow’s superhero to appear at Pyrkon – Rafał Szłapa in the Comic Books Section
What we cannot miss when preparing the Comic Books Section for you at the convention is of course superhero accents, and even more so – our national ones! You will have the chance to meet Rafał Szłapa, a talented graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, who is known for many of his works. It is no secret, however, that his most popular work is the series featuring Bler – a contemporary Polish superhero, with 7 volumes full of his adventures already published.

He knows comics like the back of his hand!
Rafał Szłapa graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He’s a graphic artist by education and crates book and press illustrations, designs for computer games, board games and card games as well as book covers for a living. He is a comic artist and script-writer at heart.
Our guest also creates short stories published in the press and in comic magazines. Throughout his career he also dealt in drawing history comics as well as advertising comics. Since 2010 he has been creating the superhero and horror cycle “Bler” as the script-writer, artist and publisher. He is the author of the poster and the complete brand identity package for the 29th International Comics and Games Festival in Łódź.
Within the last year, Rafał Szłapa debuted on the American market as the author of drawings for the comic published by Capstone publishing house.
