So, when it comes to families, is it true that it’s best to steer clear of doing business together? Well, no! Jacob and Thomas Fryxelius will show you how to make a board game!
Board games have been bringing people together at communal tables for years, becoming a space for building relationships and experiencing exciting adventures. At Pyrkon, there was no shortage of artists who have influenced the development of this unique culture with their passion and talent. This year we are pleased to welcome Thomas and Jacob Fryxelius, the twin brothers behind the success of FryxGames.
Every adventure has a beginning
Thomas, along with his twin brother, Jacob, are the co-creators of Wilderness, FryxGames’ first published game. This project began their journey together in the world of board games and inspired them to further develop their passion. In 2011, together with his siblings and parents, they founded FryxGames, a board game publishing house. Although this is when the brand was officially founded, many of the designs and ideas go back decades, even before the company was formally established.
Their main mission is to show the world that board games can be more than just entertainment. According to them, it is a way to unite people, regardless of their experiences or views. In their projects and vision of co-creating a board game culture, they focus on equality, respect and building a common space for discovering new adventures.
But what exactly do the guys do?
Jacob Fryxelius is a creative game designer and veteran of the board game world who has played a key role in developing the gaming passion of his large family.
His main work focuses on designing card games – in this field he combines his imagination with years of experience to create titles that attract players from all over the world. Among them are such items as “Terraforming Mars” and “Terraforming Mars: The Dice Game.”
Thomas, who is one of the pillars of FryxGames, is an invaluable support in the game development process. His job is not only to support the design and testing of new titles, but also to provide valuable comments that help shape the final result.
In addition, Thomas handles the FryxGames online store, ensuring that the games created by the Fryxelius family reach gamers around the world.
Pyrkon is getting closer and closer!
During Pyrkon, you will have the opportunity to learn what the development of games that bring generations together and inspire them to play together looks like. You’ll learn about the challenges Thomas and Daniel face during their work, what motivates them, and their plans for the future.
