Arkadiusz Jabłoński as a Guest of the Fast East Fantasy Section
If you are a fan of the Land of Cherry Blossom, then you will certainly be happy to meet someone who deals with Japan professionally. The person we are talking about, who furthermore takes on the subject academically and as a hobby, is another Guest of the Far East Fantasy Section – Arkadiusz Jabłoński.
Writer and professor
Arkadiusz Jabłoński is a japanologist, linguist, and professor at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. As a hobby, for the last few years he’s been fighting an uneven battle – both on paper and over the Internet – with exaggerated or just made up “careless narratives” about Japan and Japanese culture.
Debates about Japan
“Japoński miszmasz” (Japanese hodgepodge), a book which, like its author, has its own Facebook page, is a peculiar record of those heroic struggles. The author will be glad to hear your opinion about his reflections, as he’s not averse to interesting debates. He claims that every meeting with an alien culture allows us to take a closer look at our own identity. Do you agree? Or have you got a different opinion? We would like to ask everyone interested in taking part in a fascinating discussion about Japan to note the time and date of the meeting with our Guest in their calendars.
