SARS-Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) STATEMENT

Dear all,

we know that it took us a while to provide you with an official update. Like you, we follow all announcements of the agencies responsible for public safety and health in Poland on an ongoing basis.
Nothing is more important to us than the wellbeing of every person who comes to our Festival.

We do not take any decision concerning your health and safety lightly. Because of that we needed time to gather and analyze necessary information. An emergency meeting of our top management resulted in the following:

Pyrkon 2020 is not canceled. It will take place on May 8-10, as scheduled. We are aware of the recommendation of the Government of the Republic of Poland to cancel mass events. As there is still a lot of time left, and the situation is dynamic, we do not want to make any premature decisions that we might regret later on. Our team works as planned, but we are constantly monitoring the situation. We are also in constant contact with our medical security team to ensure maximum safety and comfort during your stay at the Festival.

At the same time, a backup plan to move Pyrkon to another date is being prepared, in case the situation demands it.

The logistics of such an undertaking is not easy. Therefore, we will inform you about our decision to change (or not change) the date of our event on April 2 at the latest. It will allow you enough time to change your travel plans. Therefore, we are also moving the increase in ticket price from April 6th to April 13th.

If we are forced to postpone the event, all previously bought tickets will remain valid for the new date. If the new date does not suit you, we will refund the tickets. Exhibitors will also be refunded if they are unable to come on the later date.

This is a very challenging situation for all of us. We are doing what we can to preserve and grow the event that we have been creating together for the last 20 years. We need your help and understanding. There are a lot of gossip and fake news surrounding Pyrkon right now. If the information does not originate from one of our official channels, please be aware that it can be false. We will keep you posted and adjust our work as the situation unfolds. Right now, we all need to remain calm.

Due to the mobilization with regards to the SARS-CoV-2 virus we wish to assure you that we are not planning to cancel Pyrkon. All activities connected with the preparation of the festival are going according to plan. We are monitoring the situation constantly and cooperating with the PIF in the scope of ensuring maximum safety of the participants. We will be keeping you in the loop as to our activities.

The Medical Aid which usually operates during Pyrkon at the Poznań International Fair will employ reinforcements. The medical team is in constant contact with the Poviat Sanitary and Epidemiological Station as well as an appropriate hospital. Additionally the PIF group has made even more effor than usual to maintain cleanliness of the facilities. In accordance with the recommendation of the sanitary services, the toilets, railings and handles will be disinfected by the cleaning service multiple times a day. Additionally, in the toilets at the Fair, disinfecting fluid dispensers have been installed and a Chief Sanitary Inspector’s instruction for the correct manner of washing hands has been made available. An official communication of the Chief Sanitary Inspector in three languages has also been placed in the halls.
