What concerts do we have in stock for you in 2024?

Nothing completes the atmosphere of a convention like music. Pyrkon cannot take place without concerts, too. During this year’s Pyrkon, more than a dozen performers will take on our two stages. Their repertoire will cover a wide range of musical genres, from rock and metal to rap.

Who will perform at Pyrkon this year?

In this article, for the sake of clarity, the guest artists performing at Pyrkon are divided into several loose categories. Detailed information on each concert, including the day and time, can be found in the >program<.

Rap

Szymi Szyms – he is a 27-year-old rapper from Lidzbark Warmiński, but lives and records in Koszalin. He has a distinctive style based on biting punchlines and no hang-ups in his braggadocio. He honed his solid skills on underground stages and countless recordings regularly hitting the web. His lyricism orbits around life’s themes and is very personal, laced with an emotional rap that is impossible not to remember.

Opał – a long-established rapper, originally associated with horrorcore, has definitely changed his direction in recent years. He combined very personal and intimate lyrics with incredible musical and life progression. Consistent work has resulted in building his not-so-small musical kingdom, which is growing in influence every day. The crowning event, however, was the release of the album “Pierwsza jesień bez depresji”, which proved Opal’s unheard-of artistic sensitivity.

Folk and Shanteys

Svita – A band whose eclectic music combines many currents and genres to spread before the listener a landscape taken straight from Slavic and Nordic legends. The band’s instrumentation intertwines instruments such as the violin, hurdy-gurdy and dulcimer, but also shaman drums or bass guitar.

Daj Ognia – Daj Ognia is a dark folk band whose songs feature a dance rhythm that converges with an unsettling, dark style. Their works combine the use of ancient instruments with a modern interpretation of Polish and Scandinavian traditions. Expect an experience that is unusual, foreign and at the same time awakening memories deeply rooted in your Slavic genes.

Laboratorium Pieśni –  is a women’s songwriting group, formed in 2013. The group sings and arranges traditional polyphonic songs: Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Belarusian, Serbian, Albanian, Bosnian, Polish, as well as Georgian, Scandinavian, Occitan in orgin and many others. They perform Songs of the World both a capella and accompanied by shaman drums and other ethnic instruments (including shruti box, bells, noise makers, a flute, a kalimba, bowls, a gong), bringing a new arrangement to traditional songs, a space for voice improvisations, inspired by the sounds of nature, often intuitive, wild and feminine.

Ryczące Dwudziestki – Five male voices a’cappella, or accompanied by guitars. Over the years, creating uncommonly arranged songs, they have developed a new and unique style and distinctive sound. They are not afraid of experimentation and musical innovations, and the spectrum of their repertoire ranges from romantic Irish ballads and original songs, through reworked versions of shanteys, eco songs for children, humorous miniatures of classical music, to gospel repertoire. They have won numerous awards at sailing song festivals for their joy-filled nautical songs and powerful harmony-sounding shanteys – sea songs of labor.

Faun – is a German band that combines medieval and ancient sounds with modern influences to create an enchanting and powerful atmosphere. The band’s performances include a variety of instruments, including the noisemaker, nyckelharpa, various lutes and many drums. In addition, the melodious vocals move from white voice folk singing to chorale-like vocalizations to polyphonic music.

Rock i Metal

Nocny Kochanek – plays musically classic heavy metal inspired by the giants of the genre, which can be heard right away. Using humor, not taking the world too seriously, employing pastiche and language games, Nocny Kochanek draws a picture of the Polish metal subculture, but not only that. The group was formed in 2012, as the alter ego of Night Mistress. The band was supposed to be a temporary joke and a respite from serious performances, but when it turned out that it also amused the audience, and the group members also felt more comfortable with the joking, it stayed with the guys for a while longer.

Zenek Kupatasa – Since 1997, he has been actively creating, writing songs and releasing albums independently, promoting them on his own. At the age of 15, he founded the band Kabanos, which he was the frontman of for 21 years. In total, he has written music and lyrics for more than 120 songs. He is currently creating on his own. It’s hard to pigeonhole him. In his first phase, he combined heavy music with absurd humor. Nowadays, he is more focused on his own philosophy of life, beaming with optimism, sincerity and joy of creation. He is supported on stage by guitarist Jurek Halapenio, bassist Włodek Bombel and drummer Boguś Bambaryła, who together form a truly positive, explosive mix of energy.

HER OWN WORLD – is nothing less than an explosive mix of industrial rock and electro from Szczecin. The live show of this quartet is not only electronics mixed with guitar riffs, but also a visual performance by a dancer using live fire, which is complemented by the distinctive timbre of Yu’s vocals. The band has a number of singles and a debut album, “Tales from Another Life,” released in June 2023 to their name.

Percival Shuttenbach is not only a band that combines several musical sub-projects, but first and foremost an enterprise engaged in a wide range of musical activities – organizing and realizing concerts and music workshops, publishing, online sales. The heads – the founders of this enterprise – both in terms of musical creation and non-musical activities – are two people – Mikołaj Rybacki and Katarzyna Bromirska. This composer-producer duo has been pursuing Percival Schuttenbach’s vision of the group as a constantly evolving brand for more than 20 years. And this year they are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the band’s existence.

SMKKPM (Sekcja Muzyczna Kołłątajowskiej Kuźni Prawdziwych Mężczyzn) – is a Krakow-based band presenting an unpretentious combination of humor, not taking life too seriously, sincere fun and fantastic alternative music. They promote “mediocrity,” self-acceptance, and their songs carry good, life-affirming messages. The songs “Superbohater,” “Kartografia” and “Piechotą do Twojego serca” made their way into the Polish romantic comedy “Miłość jest blisko.” In turn, the song “Bzdury” was featured on the soundtrack of the film “Czarna Owca.” Also interesting tracks are the sentimental pieces “Hermiona” and “Karty z Magicka,” which tell the story of friendship and love in the time of the 3.5 edition of Dungeons and Dragons.

Muzyka Wschodnia

MindaRyn – is a vocalist whose singing can be heard in anime such as Tensura, Arifureta, or ULTRAMAN BLAZER. Originally from Thailand, the singer encountered anime at an early age, eventually moving to Japan to record songs for animations there. In November 2020, she debuted the single “BLUE ROSE knows,” the ending to the anime By the Grace of the Gods. She also later recorded tracks for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest, ULTRAMAN BLAZER and many other series. In particular, she received a lot of publicity with the opening of the second part of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime – Season 2, which amassed more than 37 million views.

BURNOUT SYNDROMES is a three-member band from Osaka, founded in 2005. The music created by its members was appreciated by the Production I.G animation studio which resulted in them using their singles in the credits for the second (“FLY HIGH!!!”), third (“Hikariare”) and fourth (“PHOENIX”) seasons of Haikyu!!!. The band also recorded “Good Morning World!” – the opening to the anime Dr. STONE, and Gintama‘s ending, entitled “Hanaichimonme.

Chór All Fine – is an ensemble that brings together graduates of choirs from, among others, music schools in Poznan. It is formed by a group of singing enthusiasts of high school and college age, and the glue that keeps the ensemble together is its conductor Laura Stieler, who cares not only about the artistic side and awakening a passion for singing, but also about the good atmosphere, creating an environment of friendship and support. The choir’s repertoire includes major works of choral music, sacred music, popular music and film music. At the concert they will sing songs from such productions as “My Neighbor Totoro,” “Laputa – Castle in the sky,” “Spirited Away,” “Suzume” and “Elfen Lied.” The ensemble reaches for unconventional arrangements, and a large part of the repertoire is made up of arrangements by the conductor herself.

B1/Wonderz – is a group of six people who have been working vigorously for more than a year to bring fun and smiles to people’s faces. They cosplay, dance, act out scenes. They base their work mainly on songs from the game “Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage” (Japanese: “Project Sekai”), but not only that. In addition to “Project Sekai,” their YouTube channel also features appearances from such series as “Oshi no Ko” and “The Quintessential Quintuplets.” They don’t show typical idol concerts on stage – it’s a whole performance, into which they put their amateur acting and involve the whole audience. They owe their presence at Pyrkon to their distinction at the Hikari Idol Contest, where they showed off many of their talents.

JEREMIAH KANE – NEO SAMURAI ROCKERS from Poznań, Poland, are conquering Europe with their electrifying fusion of metal and synthesizers, inspired by the charming world of cherry blossoms and its vibrant pop culture. With three albums, one EP and numerous singles to their credit, they have earned a devoted global fan base. But their journey isn’t over yet, as they continue to push the boundaries of their sound, offering their fans an unparalleled musical experience.
