We’re talking all about games!

If you want to listen to gaming enthusiasts, come to the Gaming Room in Hall 7. Our guests will include:

Crap Skład – featuring Szymon Liebert and Filip Liebert-Polk! During their lecture, they will introduce you to the world of reviewing terrible games and share behind-the-scenes stories of creating their very own game, CyberTaxi: Lunatic Nights. This year, as a special exception, you’ll find them in the PCC.

Jordan Dębowski – if you’re interested in becoming a game designer, you absolutely have to make time for Jordan’s lectures! He will share how he manages to balance being a YouTuber with game development and will try to answer a lot of questions related to game production.

Bez/Schematu – in a joint lecture, Bartosz Malinowski and Jordan will discuss the portrayal of men in games like Dispatch, The Witcher 3, and Kingdom Come! It’s shaping up to be a fascinating discussion worth keeping in mind when planning your Pyrkon activities. This lecture will also take place in the PCC Auditorium.

Collaboration with PTBG (Polskie Towarzystwo Badania Gier/Games Research Association of Poland) – an academic association dedicated to the study of games. It brings together researchers, students, and academics interested in both digital and analog games. Join their panel on Saturday, where they will talk about games from a more scientific perspective. Maybe you’ll even end up joining their crew?

Marvecc – will introduce us to the extensive history of League of Legends, diving deep into the lore of this franchise and of other Riot Games titles in an accessible way. Thanks to this, even those who have never had contact with this universe before will have a great time and won’t feel lost!

Żappka3DS Team – Have you heard about the InPost homebrew project for the 3DS? Then maybe you’ll be interested in Żappka? Or perhaps you’re interested in modding your 3DS, or you already have a modded one and don’t know what to do with it? If you answered “yes” to at least one of these questions, you definitely need to drop by the Żappka3DS Team lectures!

Damian “DokhtorVee” Witkowski – a long-time Pyrkon speaker, who during his lectures this year will talk about the phenomenon of game modding, game design, and nostalgia for old titles, as well as tackle the topic of game promotion.

You’ll be able to listen to these and many other fascinating panels in the Gaming Zone!

And if just listening about games isn’t enough for you, grab a controller in Hall 6C at one of the booths prepared especially for you!

Retro Vibe? Why Not!

For those of you who want to feel the vibe of older games we have the Retro Games Zone! You will find original consoles and computers from the 80s, 90s, and 00s there, divided into thematic sub-zones that will let you walk through the successive eras of gaming—from Atari and NES, through 16- and 32-bit hardware, to the first PlayStation and the PS2, Xbox, and GameCube generation. Drop by, grab a controller, and immerse yourself in the world of classic titles from decades ago!

Straight from Hell – The DOOM Zone

How about the DOOM Zone, prepared by Forge of Gamers? There, you’ll find a cross-section of this legendary franchise’s entire history—from the classic versions to the modern installments. What’s more, we’ve got LAN matches, speedruns, and mini-tournaments, where reflexes and map knowledge are what counts. And for those who love snapping pics—you’ll be able to take some atmospheric photos with DOOM props on site.

Fighting Games Time – YOMI

Poznań’s YOMI FGC invites all fighting game fans to compete! Titles like Tekken 8, Guilty Gear Strive, and 2XKO will be waiting at PlayStation 5 stations, and for those thirsty for competition, there will also be tournaments (sign up HERE). You’ll also have a chance to meet the YOMI crew, see what their sparring sessions look like, and learn more about the fighting game community. You can also expect a dedicated space for cosplayers and a unique meetup for fighting game fans.

Homegrown Goodness – Indie Games Polska

Do you like discovering games before everyone else does? Drop by the Indie Games Polska Foundation booth! You’ll be able to check out selected games from independent Polish developers, talk to the people behind them, and see what the game development process looks like step by step. Besides games, the booth offers some activities, gadgets, and unique materials related to the showcased titles. If you want to see what Polish creators are working on and how many interesting things are happening in today’s indie scene, you definitely need to visit them!
