We are pleased to announce the juror of this year’s Masquerade. It’s Magda “Kurumi” Orzechowska!
Last year, Magda “Kurumi” Orzechowska wowed the jurors of Pyrkon’s Masquerade with her costume of Alexstrasza from World of Warcraft and won the contest’s Grand Prix. During this year’s edition, she herself will be part of the jury, assessing the works of the best costume creators in Poland!
Armor specialist
Kurumi has been creating costumes for merely six years, which is a rather big surprise for those who have seen the quality of her outfits. The first time she came across cosplay was at Pyrkon and it became a great passion of hers right away. She specializes in creating armors, with particular emphasis on those with large shoulder pads, which are especially uncomfortable to wear as well as LED elements. The foam and Worbla are her life, proving that the love of cosplay does not always equal the love of sewing.
So far, she has created 12 outfits, two of which have won her a spot on the podium of the New Winter Games’ and the Warsaw Games Week’s cosplay contests in 2015. She has also won the Grand Prix during the Showup – International Cosplay Awards at Warsaw Comic Con 2017.
What she values most about cosplay is the time spent with friends and the opportunity to blow off steam artistically speaking.
