All witches and folk healers head to the Earth Hall! The band FAUN will perform at Pyrkon
As the sun sets over the horizon and the sounds herald the coming of night, the quiet rumble of drums can be heard. This is an announcement that the band FAUN is coming to the Earth Hall!
A few words about the band
Faun is a German band that combines medieval and ancient sounds with modern influences to create an enchanting and powerful atmosphere. The band’s performances include a variety of instruments, including the hurdy-gurdy, key fiddle, various lutes and many drums. In addition, the melodious vocals move from white voice folk singing to chorale-like vocalizations to polyphonic music.
Since 2002, FAUN has released 11 CDs and played more than 1,000 concerts around the world. They even created their own musical genre, “Paganfolk,” where they combine their pagan beliefs and lyrics with their own form of archaic folk music.
Awards and achievements
Their albums regularly top the German charts (e.g. “Pagan” ranked 3rd, “Midgard” ranked 3rd, “Luna” ranked 4th). In addition, they have been nominated for the Echo Prize, Germany’s largest music award three times, and won platinum status for their album “Von den Elben” and gold status for “Luna.”
After working with a major publisher, Universal Music, for eight years, in 2020 they decided to focus more on their roots and the archaic aspect of folk music. Their latest album “PAGAN,” released in April 2022 under their own label “Pagan Folk Records,” is the fruit of this landmark decision.
