Not only is it the greatest pleasure, but it’s also high time to reveal to you, dear Pyrkon-goers, who else will be visiting the Literature Zone at the upcoming Pyrkon Fan Convention. The notable group of foreign guests will include Siri Pettersen!
Siri Pettersen – who is she?
Siri Pettersen is a Norwegian writer. Born on October 28, 1971, she grew up in Sørreisa and Trondheim, and currently lives in Søgne. Before starting her writing career, she used to work as a web designer.
In 2002 her comic book, Anticlimax, a humorous tale with many political overtones, was published. The aforementioned graphic novel won a competition organized by the Bladkompanient publishing house.
Siri Pettersen – creative work
Siri Pettersen made her literary debut in 2013 with the publication of the first volume of the bestselling fantasy series “The Raven Rings” (which consists of three volumes: Odin’s Child, The Rot , and The Might). For the first volume of the series, she was nominated for three awards: the booksellers award, the book bloggers award and the Ministry of Culture’s debutantes award. She was also an honoree of the Fabelprosen and Sproing awards.
The trilogy has been translated into: Swedish, Finnish, Danish, Italian, Brazilian, Portuguese, Estonian, Czech and – of course – Polish. The film rights to the series have been purchased by the Norwegian film company Maipo Films, so it is possible that in the future we will be able to see the fate of the protagonists of the “Raven Rings” on the silver screen. Since the publication of her first novel, Siri has focused mainly on her literary work.
The novel Iron Wolf, which is the first volume of the author’s new series, “Verdari,” was published in 2021. The story is set in the world known from Siri’s debut series, which is sure to please all those who liked the universe created by the writer.

The author will appear at Pyrkon 2024, so all fans of her and her novels will be able to meet Siri during panels with authors, as well as get her autograph on their copies of the novels. This is one you definitely can’t miss, and so… who are we seeing come June?
